Why Farmers Should Be At The Top of The List of Things You're Thankful For
Like most people this time of year, I like to stop and make a list of all I’m thankful for. Here’s a few on the top of my list:
1. Jesus Christ Lately it’s been constantly crossing my mind how much I take for granted, the following items being the most notable. I often seem to forget that everything around me is a blessing and God put me where I am to fulfill a purpose. 2. Family and Friends What is the holidays without mentioning the people surrounding you? I have been very fortunate to have such a solid support system. |

Farming Truth turned two years old this past August. Today, with almost 25 thousand collective followers, I sometimes feel that I can’t even wrap my head around how big of a part this blog plays in my life and how many people I’m able to communicate with. To every single one of my readers, your engagement means more to me than I could ever express. Thank you!
4. Being a College Student
This is definitely not something that is always enjoyable, but it’s so exciting to be surrounded by nothing but opportunity. Being an agricultural major, I meet someone everyday who has observed the same disconnect between farmers and consumers that I’m always writing about, and there’s no better environment to show me how much my work, both in the classroom and out, matters.

When some people think about the holiday, they think about traveling, football, or cooler weather, but I guarantee you that the overwhelming majority of Americans would say a food item when asked the first thing that pops into their head when hearing the word “Thanksgiving.” Here’s some pretty crazy statistics:
