Humane Society Gets Called OutHumane Watch, who’s not a first-time critic of the Humane Society of the United States, HSUS, released this advertisement recently as a parody of the “charity’s” own sad-puppy commercials. The advertisement accurately reports that less than 1% of the money that’s donated them actually goes to animal shelters, the cause they claim to support, but the rest goes to lobbying. In specific, lobbying against farmers. Not only is this “charity” lying about helping puppies, they are backing legislation that makes it harder for farmers to put food on their table. Here’s some examples:
|
|
- Egg Products Inspection Act Amendments
have no idea what the animals need and will end up costing farmers over 7.5 billion dollars over the next twelve years.
- “Meatless Mondays”
USDA “My Plate” that has been the face of healthy eating in school districts.
- Banning gestational crates
onto them, conditions sanitary, the animals out of harsh weather, and promotes access to food and clean water at all
times.
- Outlawing battery cages
discourage fighting, and are easier to manage.
- Removing “ag gag” laws
online with false pretenses. Some cases which linked back to PETA also caught the trespassers harassing the animals to
make them appear distressed and obstructing evidence. These laws that have been given the name “ag gag”, are actually to
protect farmers from this kind of libel.
- Attacking so-called “Factory Farms”
